Putting Criminal Justice on Trial

Justice on Trial

Redemption, reintegration and restoration were only a few of the themes explored during the 3rd Annual Justice on Trial Festival – an event that showcases groundbreaking films, panels, and speakers in the criminal justice reform space.

The two day event, which kicked off on the campus of Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles on October 23rd, served as a public platform to address many of the challenges facing us today – from over-policing and gender violence to immigrant detention and mass incarceration. Led by Susan Burton and A New Way of Life Reentry Project, this year’s sponsors included the Children’s Defense Fund – California, the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, Californians for Safety and Justice, LA Progressive, Mount Saint Mary’s University – Film, Media & Communications Department, Sony Entertainment Pictures and The Race, Gender and Human Rights Fund of the Women’s Foundation of California.
