Kia College Contest Winner Surprised by Blake Griffin

This month, Elizabeth Lopez, 2014 Beat the Odds honoree and rising sophomore at Loyola Marymount University, was awarded a brand new Kia Optima LX for an essay she submitted to the Kia College Contest. Hosted by The LA Clippers and Kia Motors America, the Kia College Contest rewards one deserving high school senior or college student in the greater Los Angeles area for his or her efforts in education.

“We had a number of amazing submissions, but one stood out above the rest, Elizabeth Lopez,” said Jonathan David, Director of Partnership Services for the LA Clippers. “Her story is nothing short of inspirational and it was a privilege to have helped deliver the new car to her two weeks ago at our training facility with the help of Blake Griffin.”

We teamed up with our friends at Kia to give away a new set of wheels to a deserving student in the community. Congratulations Elizabeth!
