Rep Becerra, Councilwoman Perry, Children's Defense Fund-California, & Greater Los Angeles EITC Campaign Partnership to Hold Press Conference on Tax Credits & Rebates for Families

ECONOMIC STIMULUS REBATE CHECKS, EITC & ASSISTANCE WITH TAX PREPARATION TO BE DISCUSSED

LOS ANGELES – With April 15 just around the corner, Representative Xavier Becerra (CA-31), Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry, the Children's Defense Fund-California and the Greater Los Angeles EITC Campaign Partnership will host a press conference Thursday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m. to inform Los Angeles residents about tax rebates and free tax preparation assistance available to the public. Rep Becerra, Assistant to the Speaker of the House and the only congressional member from Southern California on the Ways and Means Committee will discuss the importance of filing a tax return this year to receive an economic stimulus payment, and encourage taxpayers to utilize local Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites to file on time and claim the full tax refund for which they qualify.
